v1.0.0 · MIT · macOS 13+ · Apple Silicon

Your Mac's heat, at a glance: xx°C.

EveryTMP is a lightweight utility that shows Apple Silicon CPU/GPU temperature in the menu bar at all times. It reads the SMC read-only, so it needs no admin rights and no resident daemon — and never appears in the Dock.

How to use

Install, launch, done

No configuration needed. The temperature appears in the menu bar the moment it launches.

  1. Download & launch

Grab the DMG from GitHub Releases, copy it to Applications and launch. The current temperature appears in the menu bar.

  2. Pick a display

Switch between CPU, GPU, and Higher (the max of both) from the menu. The refresh interval is adjustable too: 1 / 2 / 5 / 10 seconds.

  3. Leave it resident

Turn on "Open at Login" and it watches your temperature whenever you use your Mac — a self-healing design built for year-long runs.

Features

Lightweight, safe, accurate

It does one thing — read temperatures — and carries nothing extra.

xx°C in the menu bar
The current temperature always visible in monospaced digits. The tooltip and menu show both CPU and GPU.
CPU / GPU / Higher
Choose the CPU die hotspot, the GPU die hotspot, or the higher of the two.
Read-only SMC access
No admin rights like powermetrics, no privileged daemon. With no write path by design, dangerous operations such as fan control are impossible in principle.
Parked sensors excluded
Sentinel values from idle cores and out-of-range readings are never shown — the app falls back to the next candidate key automatically, or shows --°C on unsupported models.
Self-healing for year-long runs
SMC reconnect after repeated total failures, instant re-read after wake, menu rebuilt on every open, zero log accumulation. Safe to leave running.
Lightweight by design
Single process, Dock-hidden. Polling is 1 second at most with millisecond reads, and the timer is coalesced to save power.
Diagnostics window
Shows source SMC keys, connection state, and system info. Issue reports are just the --probe command output.
Open at Login
Registers with SMAppService so it is always resident after login (one-click toggle in the menu).
日本語 / English
The UI is fully localized in Japanese and English (follows the system language, switches without restart).
